Commonly found in parks around the city of Porto, the Mallard is a striking figure across the country.
Scientifically called Anas-platyrhynchos, the Mallard can be easily found at parks and other green spaces of Porto, being possible to meet and watch this kind of ducks closely.

Characterized by their greenish coloration on the head and
neck, the males are easily identified. Females, on the other hand, have the
most common coat in brown tones, which is very similar to other urban ducks.
A tip for those who want to know the species in its natural
habitat and enjoy seeing other species of fauna from Porto is the trip to the
Parque da Cidade (the largest urban park in the country). A tour rich in beauty and
nature!
