Located just a feel minutes downtown and exactly 6 minutes from the famous Estádio do Dragão, São Roque Park is one of that precious finds.
Smaller in size compared to the other parks mentioned here on the blog, the São Roque Park or Quinta da Lameira as it is also known, doesn't lack when the subject is beauty and natural flora.
Previously characterized as private property, it was opened to the public in 1979 when it was acquired by the Porto City Council that revitalized it at the beginning of the 90's.
Right at the park entrance we find the big house, now abandoned, the Calém old family owned the estate, which at first glance hide what you can find when entering the property.
In planned and completely wooded spaces, what would be the garden of Quinta da Lameira is home to birds, ducks, pigeons, seagulls and domestic cats that make their home there. The flora of the park, according to information from the City Council of Porto is composed of Eucalyptus (Eucalyptus globulus), Jacaranda (Jacaranda ovalifolia), Canfora (Cinnamomum Camphora), Camélia (Camelia Japonica) among others.
In addition to the many spaces and sculptures that are beautiful backgrounds for photographs, the park still has public toilets and the Environmental Education Center (CEA).
