Amphibians and Reptiles in Serralves Garden
By Susana Martinho - maio 01, 2018
Serralves garden tells us that 'There is life in the Park!'. In this edition the theme is the fauna - amphibians and reptiles and has date set for May 13.
It is common to confuse and even mix amphibians and reptiles when they are distinct beings: from different life cycles, typographical and climatic adaptations, and even in the history of species evolution.
However, since both are cold-blooded, they are often studied together - and there is, therefore, a branch of zoology dedicated to these groups - herpetology.
The purpose of the initiative 'There is life in the Park! - Amphibians and Reptiles' is to take a short trip through the garden of Serralves and realize what are the main differences and similarities between the two groups of living beings, who find in the Park their natural habitat.
The guide is Angelica Crottini, a researcher at the Center for Research on Biodiversity and Genetic Resources - CIBIO-InBIO.
